If you’re like most people, you probably have a few Google Assistant speakers around the house. But if you want to use them in stereo mode, you may be struggling to unpair them. Here’s how to do it. First, make sure that your Google Assistant speakers are paired. To do this, open the Google Home app on your phone or computer and tap the three lines in the top left corner of the main screen. Then tap Settings > Devices > Add a device. If your Google Assistant is already paired, it will show up here automatically. Next, make sure that each speaker is turned on and connected to the same network as your phone or computer. If one of your speakers isn’t connected, it won’t be able to connect to the other speaker and vice versa. Now we need to find our devices’ addresses. On one of your devices (usually your phone), open Settings > Bluetooth and tap on the name of the device next to which you want to unpair (in our example, “Google Home Mini”). You should see a long string of numbers and letters next to its name (in our example, “38D2F4C3-B9B5-4EAE-8FAB-DCD6A5A1EBF7”). Copy this number down for later use. On the other device (usually one of your Google Assistant speakers), open Settings > Bluetooth and tap on its name again (in our example “Google Home Mini 2nd Gen”). You should now see a list of devices connected to it; if not, tap Add Device and search for “Google Home Mini 2nd Gen”. Next, copy down its address from this list (in our example “38D2F4C3-B9B5-4EAE-8FAB-D ..

Before we proceed, you might need to manually reassign the devices to your home or new rooms and relink the speakers to your Google account once they are separated.

To separate your Google Assistant smart speakers, first select the pair you’d like to split up in the Google Home app on iPad, iPhone, or Android. From there, tap the gear icon in the top-right corner.

Next, scroll down and select the “Speaker Pair” option. You’ll see the names of the two individual speakers in the pair.

Tap the “Separate Speaker Pair” option.

A pop-up message will appear to confirm you would like to separate the two smart speakers. Finally, select “Separate.”

That’s it! You can always repair your speakers or create a new Google Assistant smart speaker pair again in the future to get stereo audio.
