If you’re looking to add some extra security to your home or office, a Ring Security Camera can be a great option. With its customizable motion zones, you can create custom settings that make your camera more secure and easier to use. Here’s how:
- Choose the right Ring Security Camera for your needs. There are many different Ring Security Cameras on the market, so it’s important to choose one that will fit your specific needs. If you want to add motion detection and zone settings, a model with these features is best. However, if you just want basic security footage without anyMotion Detection or Zone Settings, then a model without these features may be better suited for you.
- Connect the camera to your network and computer. Once you’ve chosen the right Ring Security Camera, it’s time to connect it to your network and computer. This will allow you to access all of its features and settings from anywhere in the world! You’ll need an Ethernet cable as well as an internet connection for this process (if using a cellular phone). Once connected, open up your router or computer’s web browser and type in “ringsecuritycamera” into the address bar (or use a search engine like Google). You’ll then be able to find the Ring Security Camera’s page on our website or on our social media pages!
First, open up the “Ring” app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device, and select the camera you’d like to customize.
Next, tap the gear icon.
Select the “Motion Settings” option from the camera’s settings menu.
If this is your first time setting up Motion Zones, you’ll be met with a popup explaining them. Tap “Continue.”
In the “Motion Settings” menu, tap “Edit Motion Zones.”
The first motion zone defaults to a generic zone (highlighted blue). To make your own, tap “Add Zone.”
A series of dots will appear around the highlighted area. Drag them to create your first zone. The first zone will be highlighted blue. Once done, you can name the zone and then tap “Save Zone.”
You can now see your first zone (in this case, the one named Side Yard). If you’d like to create another, tap “Add Zone.”
Like the first zone, drag the dots to arrange the highlighted area for your new zone. This second zone will be highlighted red. Name it and then tap “Save Zone.” You can only create three Motion Zones per camera.
You’re done! If you need to, you can come back and adjust the zones as needed, tweak the sensitivity of the motion zones, or even activate “People Only Mode,” which only notifies you if the camera sees a person walk through one of your zones.
